In the presence of the British University in Egypt, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the British University in Egypt celebrated the opening of the Green and Smart Technologies Incubator of the British University in Egypt.
Dr. Amr Farouk, Vice President of the Academy for Technological Development, who attended on behalf of Dr. Mahmoud Sakr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology said that The National Program for Technology Incubators (Intilac), which was classified as one of the major national projects by the State Information Service in 2018, aims to explore new ideas and embrace their inventors, innovators, entrepreneurs and final-year students in Egyptian universities (graduation projects), and to provide the appropriate environment and financial and technical support And the logistics of distinguished technological ideas until reaching them to emerging technology companies in order to convert these ideas into commercial products with competitive ability to achieve the goal of the knowledge economy.
Prof. Dr. Yehia Bahey El-Din, Vice President of the British University in Egypt, indicated that the university is honored to participate in the National Program for Technology Incubators and the support it provides to emerging companies to develop and market their products. To grow companies from within the university campus to benefit from the scientific expertise and laboratory capabilities of the university, through the Science and Innovation Park and the BUE Business Incubator.
The Executive Director of the incubator, Dr. Tamer Adel Mohamed, added that this incubator encourages entrepreneurship opportunities in Egypt and will contribute to the development of education, transportation, health, technologies and smart materials, waste management, water saving, construction technology, and energy to name a few.
The “Green and Smart Technologies Program” offered by the British University in Egypt Business Incubator within the framework of the Intilac program and funded by the Academy of Scientific Research provides startups working in the field of green and smart technologies an opportunity to incubate for a period of 6 months in the British University in Egypt incubator and fund it with a sum of up to 200,000 pounds To encourage the development of these companies and activate them in the Egyptian labor market.
The opening included guests from funding organizations, startups, investors, industrial companies, NGOs, some faculty members and students from the British University in Egypt and others.
